Our Prices

The pricing of Good Knight Entertainment is based on a simple $50/Hour model; this is for every hour that we invest in making your special day even more special.

Everything we perform for your wedding is included in that model; that is, performance time, set up and take down of equipment, travel to and from the venue, finalization of your wedding details thirty days before your reception, and so on. That having been said, there are some things that we consider in the cost of doing business and that include our on-line planning system, play list development, and small consultations to answer questions.

Many people assume that all we charge for is performance time but there is much more involved. Here's how I develop a quote:

Site Visit: This where I visit the venue to verify the layout, determine if there will be any load in/out or setup obstacles, and verify other details. The time on this is usually one hour at the site and travel time.

Finalization of Details: This is our consultation with you to verify pronunciation of names, layout the agenda, and iron out any other wedding day details. We count the travel for this as part of the cost of doing business.*

Travel to/from event: This is the actual drive time as determined by Google Maps. This is determined round-trip.

Event setup: The time it takes us to unload the gear, set it up, perform a sound check, perform a mic check, and change from street clothes to performance attire.

Event Performance: This is the actual time we spend performing before you and your guests.

Event take down: The amount of time it takes to take down all the gear and put it back in the truck.

 Our price for this would be 16 Hours X $50/hour = $800.

 Overtime, that is, time in addition to the hours stated on the contract is time and a half ($50 + $25). That comes to $75/hour.

 Of course certain factors such as travel time will influence the price. Our home base is located in Abingdon, Maryland and distance is calculated from there. If, for example, your venue is Lauxmont Farms in Wrightsville, PA then the travel would be three hours total, as indicated above, and the quote would be $800 for a four hour performance. On the other hand, if you were to choose Swan Harbor Farms we would be looking at a total travel time of one hour which brings the total time to fourteen hours and $700.

If our round trip travel time exceeds four hours we will be including a hotel stay based on the Price Line best rates for your area.

All travel time is based on Google Maps. Round trip travel under ten minutes will not be included.

Our minimum hours is ten or $500.

* A face-to-face finalization is not required if you have completed all of the information in our on-line planner. In that case the finalization may be done over the phone and is merely a validation of the pronunciations of the names in the wedding party. If a face-to-face finalization is required then it will be an additional $100. In the example above, the face-to-face finalization is being done. If it were not the time would be 14 hours or $700. So, it would always be in the best interest of the client to complete the on-line planner to eliminate the face-to-face finalization.

If it is determined that a face-to-face finalization is required after the contract has been signed, payment for it is due two weeks before the finalization.
